When his busy schedule permits, you can find Phaneesh indulging in one of his many hobbies. These hobbies include, but are not limited to golf, hiking, cliff jumping, and racing cars. Phaneesh attempts to push his mind and body to the limits with every opportunity he gets. For Phaneesh, hobbies outside of your daily routine are extremely beneficial. Having a hobby encourages us to take a break from the busy day to day that can often wear on us. Phaneesh also believes hobbies are important for personal growth. They present us with new challenges and can introduce us to a new perspective on life.
Recently, Phaneesh Murthy has been an active golfer and outdoorsman. Phaneesh has been playing golf for approximately 10 years and tries to hit the links at least 3 times a month. He has played several courses throughout the nation, but most notably Pebble Beach in California. Golf is an extremely difficult and humbling sport. According to Phaneesh, it teaches you patience, a valuable and necessary trait.
One of Phaneesh’s latest hobbies is hiking. Most recently, Phaneesh and a group of friends hiked Mt. Annapurna in the Himalayas – the 10th highest mountain in the world. The first big hike during this trip totalled 11 days and proved to be more difficult than expected. Ultimately, the trip was a success and everyone returned from camp with a newfound energy. Phaneesh enjoys hiking because like his other passions, it pushes you to the edge – literally – and challenges you.
Phaneesh Murthy is a currently a consultant for strategy consulting firm Primentor, Inc., a firm he founded. As a consultant, Phaneesh provides guidance with restructuring, business strategy, and optimizing IT spending. He also serves on the Advisory Board for private equity fund Partners Group and since early 2014 has been an Operating Partner at New State Capital Partners LLC. Phaneesh’s focus at New State is business services, technology, and BPO-related opportunities.
Previously, Phaneesh Murthy was CEO and President of iGate Corporation, a global leader in providing integrated technology and operations-based solutions. His various other professional roles over the years have included Managing Director, Worldwide Head of Sales and Marketing, Head of Communications and Product Solutions, and Consultant for various businesses. His industry experience spans more than 2 decades, and is quite evident by his accomplishments and business acumen.
